|
FOOD
Bats eat insects.
They eat lots of mosquitoes, moths,
and beetles. |
|
ENEMIES
Opossums and cats hunt for bats.
So do hawks and owls.
Some people kill bats because they are scared of them. |
|
WHERE THEY LIVE
Bats live in caves and in hollow trees.
They sometimes live in attics.
They also live in bat houses that people build for them. |

DID YOU KNOW?
- Bats are the only mammals that can fly. Their wings
are made from very, very long fingers. The fingers are covered with skin.
- Bats can eat hundreds of insects in an hour. They
hunt at night. That makes it hard to see. Bats find their food by bouncing sound waves off
them. The sound waves bounce back to the bats and tell them where things are.
