FOOD
Gray jays eat many kinds of food.
They eat fruit and plants.
They eat insects.
They also eat meat.

ENEMIES
Owls and hawks hunt for gray jays.
So do weasels and foxes.

WHERE THEY LIVE
Gray jays live in evergreen forests. Evergreens are trees that don’t have leaves, like pine trees.
They have needles instead.

 

DID YOU KNOW?
  • Gray jays have a funny way of storing their food. They make little balls of meat and beef fat. Then they hide the balls in the pine needles.
