FOOD
Mockingbirds eat insects, berries and seeds.

ENEMIES
Owls and hawks hunt for mockingbirds.
So do foxes, weasels and cats.

WHERE THEY LIVE
Mockingbirds live in shrubs.
They like to live near forests, in fields and close to houses.

  • Mockingbirds are very good copycats. They copy the songs of other birds.
  • A male mockingbird may copy up to 36 different bird songs!
  • In cities, you may hear a mockingbird copy a police siren or a car alarm.
  • The mockingbird is the state bird of 5 states.
