They really like caterpillars.
They also eat fruit and nectar, the sugar juice that plants make. |

Owls and hawks hunt orioles.
So do weasels, foxes and cats. |

WHERE THEY LIVE
Orioles like open spaces of land, near woods
and forests.
They also live near houses, in parks and yards. |

DID YOU KNOW?
- There are lots of different kinds of orioles.
You’ve probably heard of the Baltimore Oriole, which has a famous baseball team named
after it.
- Many male birds have brighter colors than female
birds. The male Baltimore Oriole has a bright orange body and a black head and back. The
female’s feathers are not very bright.
