You can find slime molds on the ground
in forests.
Turn over a rotting log and you may see
slime molds.
Look under a pile of leaves.
There may be slime molds there, too. |

DID YOU KNOW?
- Slime molds have been living on earth for many,
many years. They probably lived at the same time as the dinosaurs. Maybe even before that.
- The name slime mold sounds really yucky. Many slime
molds are really pretty. They are lots of different colors. Some people collect slime
molds the way other people might collect stamps!
- Slime molds are fungi. Fungi are a kind of plant,
like mushrooms. But slime molds can do something really cool that mushrooms cant do.
They can crawl over their food!
