Towhees eat insects.
They eat fruits, and nuts, and seeds. |

ENEMIES
Owls and hawks hunt for towhees.
So do foxes and weasels. |

WHERE THEY LIVE
Towhees live in clearings in the forest.
Those are open places with trees around them.
They also live at the edge of the forest and in bushes. |

DID YOU KNOW?
- If you hear a rustle-rustle, that might be a
towhee. They hop backwards through the leaves. As they hop, they turn them over. Under the
leaves they find seeds to eat.
- Towhees build their nests on the ground or near the
ground.
