KIND OF ANIMAL: Bird


FOOD
Cardinals eat seeds and fruit.
They also eat insects and spiders.

ENEMIES
Owls and hawks hunt for cardinals.
So do weasels and foxes.

WHERE THEY LIVE
Cardinals leave at the edge of the forest. They live in bushes, parks and gardens too.

 

DID YOU KNOW?
  • It is easy to spot a male cardinal. They are bright red and have pointy heads. The females are red-brown.
  • Lots of people like cardinals. They are the state birds of 7 different states!
