KIND OF ANIMAL: Bird


FOOD
The ibis loves seafood.
It eats fish, shellfish, crabs and shrimp.
It also eats frogs and lizards.

ENEMIES
People drain the water from swamps so that they can build houses.
This means that the ibises that live there lose their homes.

WHERE THEY LIVE
The ibis likes wet and muddy places.
It lives near lakes, marshes and swamps.
It also lives on shores.

 

DID YOU KNOW?
  • The ibis has a long bill, a long neck and legs like stilts. It is good at catching things that live in water that isn’t very deep.
  • The ibis has beautiful thick, white feathers.
