KIND OF ANIMAL: Bird

FOOD
Tufted titmice like many foods.
They eat insects, and spiders, and snails. They eat seeds, and nuts, and berries.

ENEMIES
Owls and hawks hunt for titmice.
So do foxes, weasels, and cats.

WHERE THEY LIVE
You can find tufted titmice in forests.
You can find them in swamps that have a lot of bushes.
They also live in parks and yards.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • Titmice are not shy birds. They like to visit birdfeeders. This helps them stay alive in the winter.
  • Titmice use hair from animals to line their nests. Sometimes they pull it from live animals. Ouch!
