DESCRIPTION
  • Bees are not native to North America. They were brought here by settlers who came from Europe.
  • There are many kinds of bees. They are very important to plants. As they collect pollen and nectar from plants, they spread the pollen from one plant to another. This makes the plants able to form seeds.
  • Bees are social insects. They live in hives which they build. Each hive has a queen whose job is to lay the eggs. There are worker bees which collect food, make honey, and feed the babies.
