DESCRIPTION
  • The bobcat is named for its short tail, which looks like it has been “bobbed” or cut.
  • Bobcats are terrific hunters. They have eyes that work like binoculars so they can “zoom in” on prey. They have strong jaws and sharp teeth so that they can kill their prey in one bite.
  • They used to be very common in the United States but now there are fewer because people have hunted them and have destroyed their habitat.
  • Bobcats meow, hiss and purr like house cats, but are two to three times as big.
