Bushes, moist thickets,
swampy woodlands,
suburbs

DESCRIPTION
  • Catbirds are named for the cat-like mee-ee-ow which is part of their song. They also sometimes copy the songs of other birds.
  • They are fond of bathing - either in ponds or in dry dust or sand.
  • Catbirds migrate as far south as Panama in the winter.
  • They are also known as the “slate-colored mockingbird.”
