DESCRIPTION
  • The junco is also known as the “Eastern Snowbird.” They are one of the most common visitors to birdfeeders, especially in the winter.
  • The junco is one of the birds most frequently seen on the Appalachian Trail.
  • If you are in the woods and a junco suddenly flies out at foot-level, this is because they build their nests low to the ground. If you look, you may find a cup-shaped nest under a bush or hidden in the grass.
