DESCRIPTION
  • Katydids are bright green cousins of the grasshopper with wings that look like leaves. This makes them difficult to spot.
  • Unlike grasshoppers, katydids travel mostly by flying, not jumping.
  • Katydids have very long antennae. They may even be longer than their bodies.
  • Katydids are named for their song which some say sounds like, “Katy did, katy didn’t.”
