DESCRIPTION
  • The loon is most famous for its laughing call, which some say sounds crazy.
  • Loons travel in pairs and often call to each other.
  • Loons have a hard time taking off. They need a large stretch of water to run across. Once they have gathered enough speed to lift off, they are fast, powerful fliers.
  • Loons are excellent swimmers and can chase fish for long distances under water.
