Herbivore - rotting bits of
wood, plants, stems, roots,
stored vegetables
PREDATORS:
Few enemies because it 20space.gif (58 bytes)tastes too bad to eat!
HABITAT:
Moist woodlands, under
rotting logs, piles of
leaves, rocks

 


DESCRIPTION
  • The name millipede means 1000 legs, but they actually only have between 50 and 200.
  • Millipedes may look dangerous, but they are actually vegetarians.
  • Some millipedes make a stinky liquid which may irritate skin.
  • Millipedes have a thick, outer shell which protects them. When a millipede is frightened, it curls up into a tight ball.
