DESCRIPTION
  • Mockingbirds copy the songs of other birds. A male mockingbird may imitate as many as 36 different bird songs! In cities, mockingbirds imitate the sounds they hear. They may even copy police sirens and car alarms.
  • The mockingbird is the state bird of 5 states.
  • In the spring, male mockingbirds will sing hour after hour, even at night.
  • Mockingbirds fiercely defend their territories.
