DESCRIPTION
  • Moles spend most of their time underground digging tunnels.
  • Northern moles have star-shaped noses. The star is made of feelers which are very sensitive to vibration and movement and help the moles find food.
  • Star-nosed moles are only about 6 inches long and not very fat! But they eat more than their own body weight each day. Most of what they eat is earthworms.
  • Moles don’t have many enemies, although humans sometimes trap them.
  • Star-nosed moles are excellent swimmers and divers, even though they don't see very well.
