DESCRIPTION
  • The annoying sound which tells us that a mosquito is nearby is made by the rapid beating of its wings. They beat about 500 times a second.
  • Only female mosquitoes suck blood, and they’re only being good mothers. Something in the blood helps her eggs hatch. Males feed on plant juice and nectar.
  • Some mosquitoes carry diseases like malaria and yellow fever.
  • Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water.
