DESCRIPTION
  • A phoebe is a flycatcher. They are particularly fond of plucking flying insects out of the air, especially around water.
  • Phoebes prefer to build their nests under bridges or roofs of buildings near water.
  • Phoebes often flick or “wag” their tails.
  • They are one of the first kinds of birds to return to the northern states in the spring.
