DESCRIPTION
  • There is some debate about how these beautiful snakes got their name. To some people, their striking color looks like Indian corn. Other people think their name comes from their habit of hiding in cornfields where they can dine happily on a plentiful supply of rodents.
  • Corn snakes have suffered because they are sometimes confused with the poisonous copperhead. In fact, they are gentle snakes, easy to tame, and often kept as pets.
