DESCRIPTION
  • The wood duck builds its nest in a hollow tree which may be as high as 50 feet off the ground. When the ducklings are less than a day old, they are expected to jump to the ground when their mother calls. They then follow her to the water.
  • Male wood ducks have patterns which look like they were painted on.
