DESCRIPTION
The wood duck builds its nest in a hollow tree
which may be as high as 50 feet off the ground. When the ducklings are less than a day
old, they are expected to jump to the ground when their mother calls. They then follow her
to the water.
Male wood ducks have patterns which look like they
were painted on.
