The wood thrush prefers shady areas. It sings
mostly at dawn and dusk.
The number of wood thrushes is dropping. This is
partly the fault of the brown-headed cowbird, who steals the thrushes' eggs and puts its
own in their place. In some cases, the thrush parents end up raising more cowbird babies
than baby thrushes.
Wood thrushes like to hunt for food on the forest
floor.
