DESCRIPTION
  • The wood thrush prefers shady areas. It sings mostly at dawn and dusk.
  • The number of wood thrushes is dropping. This is partly the fault of the brown-headed cowbird, who steals the thrushes' eggs and puts its own in their place. In some cases, the thrush parents end up raising more cowbird babies than baby thrushes.
  • Wood thrushes like to hunt for food on the forest floor.
