DESCRIPTION
  • The most common wild finches in the eastern U.S. are the house finch and the purple finch.
  • These small birds have sturdy pointed beaks which are perfect for cracking seeds.
  • Finches like company. They are often found in flocks.
  • Finches spend much of their time in trees and bushes, coming down to the ground only to feed.
