DESCRIPTION
The goldfinch has different summer and winter
outfits. In the summer they are a bright yellow color, while in the winter they fade
almost to gray.
Goldfinches are particularly fond of the thistle
plant. They eat its seeds and use its down to line their nests. They attach their nests to
trees using caterpillar webs.
Goldfinches are fond of birdbaths.
Goldfinches communicate their claim to territory by
an active flying display.
