DESCRIPTION
  • The goldfinch has different summer and winter outfits. In the summer they are a bright yellow color, while in the winter they fade almost to gray.
  • Goldfinches are particularly fond of the thistle plant. They eat its seeds and use its down to line their nests. They attach their nests to trees using caterpillar webs.
  • Goldfinches are fond of birdbaths.
  • Goldfinches communicate their claim to territory by an active flying display.
