DESCRIPTION
  • Ruby-throated hummingbirds are only 3 1/2” long and weigh 1/8 ounce, but their wings beat about 50 times a minute and they can fly up to 50 miles per hour!
  • They spend the winter in Mexico, Central America, or the Caribbean Islands, then migrate north in the spring.
  • Both males and females have bright green backs, but only the male has a bright red throat.
