DESCRIPTION

Black bears rarely attack humans, but if they are provoked, they can be dangerous.
They are good climbers and swim well.
Their sense of smell is much better than their eyesight.
Black bears are not all black, but can be silvery gray, reddish brown, or chocolate colored.
They are scavengers who are known for pawing through garbage and stealing food from campsites.
Black bears hibernate for 5 to 7 months each year.
